Giving back

I've been spending a lot of my time thinking about the business. I've even put myself in an uncomfortable situation of going to a fashion startup networking event. I used to think that I could do everything on my own, and I'm sad and embarrassed to say that it took me this long, probably a decade too long, to realize that I need a lot of help. I need community. And I need to develop myself to a point that I can also help others out.

It might all stem from moving a bunch as a kid and having coddling parents who made sure everything in my life was relatively smooth and stress-free.

Anyway, I feel like there's so little time left, though ask me again when I'm 60 and see if I actually didn't have time haha.

Thinking about how the business can simultaneously give back to the world is something that I'm now giving more though to. I don't think I'm the non profit type, but we need to figure out how fashion can give back to the world, and not just take and pollute.

Another side thought was whether vegan leather is actually better or worse for the environment than chrome tanning leather. Need to do more research.

Piano

This lady I found on instgram apparently is a DIY whiz. She found a old piano on Craigslist and painted it blue. Results were fantastic, I almost wanted to do one myself! Looked at craigslist and there was an upright in good condition for free! Immediately texted the husband and asked if I could get it. Shortly after called my mom to see if i could house it at her place. Lots of hesitation on both ends but no strong no... Haha. Great people in my life, too scared or hurting my feelings!
